During the 2013 spring and summer semesters, the chapter house underwent a complete renovation where nearly every room was taken down to the studs, reconfigured and updated with all new systems and finishings. Additional space for rooms and bathrooms was added on the west (“old”) side of the house while an additional entryway was added on from the basketball court into the dining and living rooms. The result is a larger, updated and more beautiful facility for our current members and alumni to enjoy for many years to come.
This past fall, during homecoming weekend, a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held to dedicate the new renovations to the chapter house. Campaign co-chairmen Don Sherman (ΓΡ 374) and Raj Patel (ΓΡ 1120) were joined by chapter advisor Rodger Lalli (ΓΡ 1894), Sigma Phi Housing Corporation President Bob Canfield (ΓΡ 876) and Rennie Cook (ΓΡ 1547) to host the ceremonies. All gave brief remarks, giving special thanks to all of those involved in helping make these renovations possible, including Mom Carol Roberts.
The cutting of the ribbon was done by all actives and alumni in attendance. The ribbon was stretched around the entire property, with scissors distributed, allowing all present to take an active role in the dedication.
While the renovations are complete, we still need your help to finance these much-needed improvements. Donations can be made here. We thank you for your consideration of a gift of any size!
